This is the most popular question. There are many ways to get involved at any level you’re comfortable with. You can do any number of things, such as volunteering your thoughts, time, voice, or monetary donation. Help from home or come out to an event, it’s up to you. Read on for specifics!

Join our discussions by posting and commenting in our private Facebook groups for our Anti-Racism Education and Justice Reform committees. Intellectually engage with others in our community.
The Ideas Need Voices
Get actively involved with the strategies and execution toward our goals and mission by coming to our committee meetings. Meeting information is available in our private Facebook groups under “Events”. Check out when the next meetings are for our Anti-Racism Education Committee and our Justice Reform Committee.

Participate in local events. Chant with us at protests or come to a workshop hosted by our committee.

Volunteer for local events. Assist our community and surrounding areas by volunteering your time, helping great causes run their events.
We All Need Support
Join our digital team to help as a content writer/editor, graphic designer, web developer, or assist in communications by managing our email newsletter, social media, or becoming a Facebook group moderator. We need to keep the #BlackLivesMatter movement momentum going in our community by bringing inspiration and encouraging communication and organization. Without our community, we can’t reach our goals!

Volunteer Positions Available
Educating our community about policing and anti-racism is vital to our mission. We are pleased you have decided to play a part. The responsibilities for a chair or co-chair include:
- Setting the agenda items for the monthly committee meeting;
- Engaging with committee members using the Facebook group for project check-in’s and updates between meetings;
- Delegating tasks to committee members as needed, and;
- Overseeing all projects and initiatives…
- ensuring that they all align with M.O.R.E’s mission and vision for Mt. Lebanon.
- does not condone violence or utilizes shaming or unnecessary aggression in messaging—the target audience that M.O.R.E and AREC are educating are our friends, families, neighbors, and community and should be treated with respect

Reforming the Mt. Lebanon Police Department to use community policing techniques is just one example of how our community could be safer for Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). Educating our community about policing and anti-racism is vital to our mission. We are pleased you have decided to play a part. The responsibilities for a chair or co-chair include:

- Engaging with committee members using the Facebook group for project check-ins and updates between meetings;
- Delegating tasks to committee members as needed, and;

A content editor contributes with writing, editing, proofreading, and publishing the informational content on our website that exists. This includes, but not limited to, the articles that appear on our news page. Experience with WordPress is a bonus, but not required—it’s easy to learn!

As a Facebook group moderator, you’d be responsible for enforcing our user guidelines by monitoring the activity within M.O.R.E’s Facebook groups and reviewing group membership requests (you do not have to moderate all the groups, you can choose which ones you want to help with). For posts or comments that do not comply with our guidelines or a group’s rules, it’s up to you to respond to them and ask their poster to edit, or you will delete. Your job is not to censor or curate the content, but to keep this space safe for everybody and assist in protecting our online spaces against bots, spam, and trolls.

Our Justice Reform and Anti-Racism Education committees have a lot of ideas people, but in order to share their amazing ideas with the community, we could really use graphic designers like you to help illustrate their messages. Join the Digital Team and collaborate with all of M.O.R.E’s committees to create graphics for our Facebook page, newsletter, and website, and any projects that need a designer’s touch like yard signs, T-shirts, and more!

A communications manager helps with writing, editing, proofreading, and sending out our email newsletter, covering our latest news, upcoming events, and important or relevant information shared by our committee members. Experience with Mailchimp is a bonus, but not required—it’s easy to learn!

Social Media Content Creator
A social media content creator contributes with writing, editing, proofreading, and scheduling content to be published on our public Facebook page. As part of the digital team, you’ll collaborate with our content writer and communications manager to coordinate consistent messaging and provide support for M.O.R.E’s committees by focusing on curating and sharing information relevant to current committee initiatives. Requires a Facebook account and must have some basic knowledge of how to use social media for racial justice.
