There will not be a group meeting tonight as previously announced, it has been postponed until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns. We apologize for the inconvenience and hold everyone’s safety in high regard. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Information about our agenda items for the meeting will be posted in their respective forums soon and/or announced in an upcoming newsletter. Specifically:
- announcing our new group name and mission statement (yes, the logo and overall branding on the website and these emails will be updated to match soon)
- reviewing our new committee organization/structure
- announcing the formation of an executive/steering committee
- outlining a process for democratic decision-making during group meetings
- a request to the Education Committee to begin planning some events; there are a host of Black leaders in Pittsburgh who can advise us on how to form and pursue an anti-racism / racial justice agenda in Mt. Lebanon
- updating the group on recent talks with commissioners
- a request to the Justice Reform Committee to begin discussing a petition to the commissioners demanding systemic change to the Mt Lebanon Police Department. We need to come up with a list of short and long term objectives
