Recently, many of us have become much more engaged in politics at the local, state, and federal levels. It is not just that we have been paying more attention: we’ve marched, made phone calls, sent cards, formed groups, and in every way possible tried to make our voices heard.
But can we do more? Can we leverage our activism into lasting and substantial influence on our communities? Heather Arnet, the CEO of the Women’s and Girl’s Foundation, will discuss how to develop strategies and cultivate relationships in order to turn our protests into policy. She will focus on the state level, but much of what she has to say is relevant in local and national policy as well. Join us in this talk with Heather Arnet, prominent social justice activist and Mt. Lebanon resident, on how to transform our protests into policies.
This event was co-sponsored by M.O.R.E and South Hills United Against Hate (SHUAH).
