With the retirement of Judge Blaise Larotonda, who had served as the magistrate for Mt. Lebanon and Dormont, we will be electing a new District Judge this year. But what difference does it make to have a judge working with a progressive mindset rather than one comfortable with the status quo? What do District Judges do, and what role do they play in racial justice, and in other social justice issues? We are joined by local activists Swain Uber and Muhammad Ali Nasir (MAN-E).
We want to give a special thank you to everyone on M.O.R.E’s Justice Reform Committee, Steering Committee, and Digital Team as well as our sponsor, Grassroots Justice of the South Hills (GJSH). They’re the people who made this happen.
And of course, thanks to our special guest speakers, MAN-E and Swain Uber, for their time in talking with us last night and to Autumn Redcross; we understand family comes first. For those of you interested, consider getting involved with ALC Court Watch.
